  1. As you can see we have cut onions, garlic, tomato, ginger and some green chillies , you could use Jalapeno peppers as a substitute for green chillies. I am from India , so just love the spice of green chillies. If you are trying these chillies for the first time beware of the fierce herbal heat that it can bring. India is the world’s foremost consumer of chilies and all varieties have different taste and spice levels. These chilies bring a depth of flavor and balance to our dishes.
  2. Heat ghee in a skillet over medium heat and add cumin, garlic and onions to it ! I make ghee at home with grass-fed butter , you can also find ghee ( clarified butter ) in your local organic store ! Ghee originated from the Indian subcontinent. We use Ghee (which is 99% of the time homemade ) for religious rituals, cooking purposes as well in traditional medicine. I use Ghee as an alternative to cooking oil. It is a healthy addition to your diet but in moderation. Do not over consume ghee , it is after all saturated fat.
  3. Cook and stir until fragrant and soft, about 3 minutes. Stir in the cut tomatoes along with salt, garam masala, curry powder/coriander powder and turmeric for about 2 min. Once again garam masala is one of our most popular spices made with a mix of cinnamon, cloves, peppercorns, cumin, cardamom . I do not add cilantro seeds to it since I make cilantro powder as a separate condiment.If you want to cook Indian-inspired dishes garam masala is THE king of spices to use.
  4. Stir in the ground HEMPFU breaking it into crumbles as it cooks , gently mixing it with the rest sprinkling the ginger chunks on it as well.I love the flavor and smell of ginger along with its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
  5. After about 2 minutes of stirring, the Curried Hempfu is ready to be served. I had brown rice tortillas at home , so had my hempfu with that ..Can also be served with Naan, Rice, Roti, Dosa etc.I kept my dinner as gluten-free , feel free to have your favorites with the curried hempfu.
