Juicing: Turbo-charge your health

How many of you are getting your 5-7 servings of vegetables and fruit daily ? Not many I guess…

Juicing is a great way to turbo-charge your body with vitamins and minerals from a variety of produce. Most of us keep buying the same kind of produce weekly because we have developed a taste for it and find it difficult to try new vegetables..I personally love drinking carrot juice but do not like the taste of carrots, so juicing was my best option to get all the nutrients in .

Spinach is another of my favorite green leafy vegetable to juice ..and this recipe has 80% spinach 15% apples 5% is ginger and lemon.

It has been used as a healer , a home-remedy for digestive issues, nausea, relief from cold, cough , morning sickness for generations in our Asian Indian culture . Our famous ginger chai( chai means tea in Hindi, the national language of India) is made daily and is the most famous aromatic hot beverage in every household.

Apples and lemon in this juicing recipe help as cleansing agents and detox the liver .

 

 

Juicing has become my muscle recovery prescription and research states it can add muscle if you do weight training/strength training/resistance training exercises and I am super pumped up for that !

Fresh Juice not only has great nutritional value , it has LIFE..

My recommendation is to not buy bottled juices…you may be wondering why not?
Bottled juices are pasteurized, they are heated, processed and that obviously kills all vitamins and minerals.

Make sure you are not juicing only fruits because fruit juice tends to spike up the insulin levels when consumed. I normally juice a mix of raw vegetables with some fruits.

  1. Add Spinach, cut apples , ginger chunks and lemon slowly into the chute of the Omega Juicer . It masticates the produce at low speed thereby retaining the color, nutrients and other minerals. Use the auger that comes with it to push down the cut produce and there you have..fresh and flavorful antioxidant rich green juice.

  1. I try to make fresh juice every morning with my breakfast! Sometimes it’s hard to put aside the time but I always find it to be worth it from the energy I get! I’ll have to try out the recipe that you listed, looks yummy!

  2. This looks so YUM! I love the zing of the ginger- and the jam jar is the perfect way to drink it!! I will definitely try out this recipe- I have been hearing a lot about juice cleanses- have you tried one? I typically like to do a green drink in the AM right when I wake up (after water). Right now I am cheating by taking the vega greens powder… yours definitely looks much better!!

  3. Appreciate your comment Andrea.. Yes Juicing does help in cleansing. Juice fasting for a day is great for detoxing/cleansing but I would recommend you to do juicing at home. Store bought juices have been on the shelves for too long thereby lacking in nutrients.
