How to make delicious cauliflower rice
So far you must have eaten cauliflower curry with Roti/Naan/Chapatti/Pita bread. Firstly , let us not combine wheat with cauliflower. If your not so well-functioning digestive system does not accept cauliflower that well why combine it with another highly processed wheat/gluten. This combo can cause GI tract discomfort right away. Try this recipe and since we are going to eat it like we eat rice, it is very comforting on your stomach.

Instructions
  1. Buy the whole fresh cauliflower, not the packaged florets. it is cost-effective and healthier. Cut the cauliflower and pulsate it in your ninja or any food processor that you might have. Tip: Do not store the pulsated cauliflower in the fridge. It spoils too soon. Refrigerate the cut florets instead.
  2. Cauliflower is high in fiber and hence takes a while for your body to break down. Remember, 100 calories from cauliflower provides you with atleast 25% of your daily fiber intake.
  3. I love this recipe especially for dinner. You can eat it just as cauliflower rice or with eggs, chicken, organic tofu on the side. It aids in weight loss since this meal is perfect when you are wanting a low-carb high-fiber meal.
  4. As you can see in the image below, I have served it with tandoori chicken. It can be eaten with Avocado slices as well. It tastes good either way.
Recipe Notes
  • Saute the onions and cumin in avocado oil till the onions turn light brown
  • Add the pulsated cauliflower to the above
  • Add salt, turmeric, paprika and cilantro/coriander powder or garam masala
  • Stir for 2 min and serve.

 

It is ready ! A quick and healthy yet yummilicious meal !!

  2. Wow! I tried cauliflower rice when I was trying out the Raw diet but yours here look so much more tastier.Surprisingly, the cauliflower is similar to rice even in texture. I’m definitely going to try this recipe. And that Tandoori Chicken looks divine!:)

    • Thanks Adrienne ! Tandoori chicken is my next recipe that is coming up soon ๐Ÿ™‚ The spices I add in Cauliflower rice gives the taste. If you have curry powder or garam masala and turmeric , some paprika you are all set.

  3. I’ve never been a huge fan of cauliflower but I’m always looking for new and healthy recipes to try out and I’m aware of its health benefits. This recipe looks very appetising and considering that it’s healthy as well, I’m going to have to give it a try. Great photos as well!   4. This looks delicious! You may convince me to get back into using cauliflower. Women are told that they should not neglect to use vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower. Even though I love them, I have not cooked any for a long time

  5. Hi Dini. Glad to read a blog like this. I saw this kind on youtube and tried it. Cauliflower with carrots and peas and ground beef. A very healthy dish, and a very good substitute on rice. It’s just that I cannot perfect the texture. Its either my cauliflower is too soggy or too dry. lol. Hope you can list us like you top 3 cauliflower dishes. Nice post.

      Turmeric, Paprika, Garam masala( homemade)
      1. Cauliflower rice with cumin and Spinach
      2. Cauliflower rice with any veges you like, cumin adds to the taste and health benefits.
      3. Cauliflower rice with nuts and seeds( add walnut halves, sunflower seeds, raisins, cranberries)
      gives a different flavor but super healthy.

  6. Cauliflower rice? This is awesome! I’m really keen on practicing healthy eating so I am looking for different ways to cook my favorite vegetables and this looks really good, and healthy too! Although I’m not trying to lose weight, I want to eat a healthy diet as I’m an advocate of healthy living.
