There is festivity in the air. A wonderful time to strengthen family relationships, and remember to be grateful for the abundance of health, wealth, happiness, friendships, joy and success in our lives.
It can also be a stressful time for many. Are you bogged down with too many holiday commitments ? Stressed about not exercising. Juggling between balancing joy and healthy eating habits….
Not to worry. I have put together 5 high intensity exercises for you that you can do anywhere. It will help you improve cardio, burn body fat and get into shape or stay in shape .
Most of them are body weight exercises . If you have a jump rope that would be ideal. Make sure you always have good athletic shoes with you at all times.
This exercise can be as high of an intensity as you want it to be. I feel slow mountain climbers are harder than the fast ones. Both are equally effective. I would suggest get onto the fast mountain climbers once you get the technique right.It is a total body workout where your largest shoulder muscle …the deltoids are put to work. Once again, do not compromise on the form and technique. Record yourself doing it the first time. This is the best way to correct yourself.

# Air Squats
I remember doing air squats in the hotel room quite a few times during my stay for business conferences. It is definitely a calorie burner and a big time heart rate booster. The range of motion for an air squat is much deeper than a regular squat hence it helps tighten the glutes, hamstrings ,quads and inner thighs.
This video has a good air squat challenge workout. You could do all variations or just one of them..totally upto your flexibility and energy levels.
5 sets of 10 each and move on to 5 sets of 20 each.
I love burpees, not everybody does though…You will start to love them eventually. Burpees are an awesome total body workout. Again , Form is extremely important…when tired stop..do not perform any exercise with incorrect posture. Burpees will help you gain strength in your entire body. Every rep performed works on your quadriceps, hamstrings, core, arms . Definitely one of the best total body workout.
Follow the technique from this video and you can never go wrong performing burpees.
10 sets of 10 each with 10-20 sec rest after each set.
Planks are great if you want to strengthen your core as well as for balance.
Hold plank position for 30 sec . 10 sec rest and repeat ( for 5 minutes)
# Jump Rope
Did you know that 10 minutes of jump roping equals almost to a 8-10 minute mile run. It is a great calorie burner and is a great exercise to help increase your cardiovascular fitness levels.
Start with 5 sets of 50 each and increase your reps slowly.
